Frequently Asked
Questions about Q-News Subscriptions
Why haven't I
received a magazine recently?
Thank you for your subscription to Q-News. We are sad to say that
Q-News' latest issue is Issue 368, 'Another Inconvenient Truth'. Q-News
has been determined to keep running for the last 15 years because we
believe in providing the service the magazine provides in moving the
British Muslim discourse forward. We are in the process of raising
funds to continue the magazine and we hope the situation will change
very soon (we refuse to die out!) but the situation is nonetheless,
unfair to you as a paying customer so we are happy to refund the
subscription you took out, if that is what you wish. Please let us know
if we should send you cheque with your refund or via an bank transfer
(all we need is your account number and sortcode).
We hope however, that you will give us a few more months to 'sort
things out' as it were. Q-News has
always honoured all subscriptions. Our subscriptions are based on the
number of issues received, not time limits. To put it another way, if
you paid for 12 or 24 issues, you will eventually receive this number
even if it means the issues are spread over a longer period of time.
Please let us know what you would like us to do - we are happy to
oblige whichever way you decide. Please also accept our sincerest
apologies for the delays and the disappointment caused.

My details have changed; when should I write to inform you?
As soon as possible. We need at least two week's notice to ensure
uninterrupted service of your Q-News subscription. There are three ways in which you can change your
subscription details:
2) Post us your carrier sheet with the
necessary changes.
Please be sure to give us both your old
address and your new address when making an address change.
When will my subscription begin?
The first issue of your subscription will be
sent to you within two to four weeks after receipt of your order - 90%
of orders are processed within 5 business
days.
How do I know when
my subscription will expire?
For the exact issue at which your
subscription will expire, you can check the digits above your
name/address on the white carrier sheet. The final set of three digits
indicates the issue at which your subscription will expire.
For example, in the case of 1005/7541/385 - 7541 is your
subscription number while 385 is the issue at which your subscription
expires.
To check which issue we are currently at, see the fine print beneath
the Q-News logo on the front cover of the magazine.
If your subscription
is about to expire or has expired, there will be a note next to your
name on the white carrier sheet. The note will say *Your sub is about
to expire* or *Your sub has expired*. Details on how to renew your
subscription can be found within the magazine or by clicking here.
Issues, not months
Q-News subscriptions
are based on the number of issues, not on the time period. So if you
subscribe for 12 issues or 24 issues, your subscription will end when
you have been sent the number of issues you have paid for - this may
take longer than 12 months or 24 months.
What is my subscription number?
Your subscription
number is the second set of four digit numbers just above your
name on your white carrier sheet. For example, in the case of
1005/7541/385 - 7541 is your subscription number while 385 is the issue
at which your subscription expires. Q-News subscription numbers
range from 0001 to 9500.
Should I expect a receipt?
If you subscribe online using Paypal's secure service, Paypal will
automatically send you a full receipt via e-mail. Please store this receipt carefully or even print it out.
No further receipts will be issued to you from Q-News.
If you subscribe through the post or
through a direct transfer, a receipt will not be posted to you. Your
first edition will serve as a confirmation.
I may have missed
an issue of Q-News. What do I do?
If you are unsure which issues you may be
missing, check the
Back Issues page.
If your subscription is valid and you
miss an issue of Q-News, it may mean that Royal Mail has failed
to deliver your copy to you. We may be able to send you a replacement
copy if the issue is still in stock. E-mail us on subs@q-news.com with the subject
field "Edition not received" and we will see what we can do, Inshallah.
Don't forget to include your full
name and full address and the nature of your request.
Why has Paypal charged me
automatically without my consent?
Paypal automatically renews your Q-News subscription every 12 or 24
months (depending on your original subscription).
If you wish to avoid this, please log into your Paypal account and
cancel the Q-News item. Cancellation of future renewals on Paypal will
not affect your subscription with Q-News.
In the event that you have already been charged, contact Q-News by
e-mailing subs@q-news.com
and we will be happy to reverse the payment.
Reading back issues
Many recent back issues can be read online now via the Back Issues page. You will require Adobe Acrobat
which can be dowloaded for free from here. Q-News is also
working on completely digitising all our back issues (into text, not
just PDF) - all the way from 1990 when Q-News was first
established.
How can I purchase
back issues of Q-News?
A limited number of back
issues are available for purchase from the Back Issues page.
Where
is Q-News printed and posted from?
Q-News is printed in Milton Keynes, UK
and posted directly to subscribers by the printer.
