Islam’s tradition of social justice has always strived towards peace and reconciliation. But how is that possible when you have been the victim of genocide, murder and mass rape? How is it possible for societies to rebuild after the trauma of this kind of violence? Is there hope for peace after the ethnic cleansing of Muslims in Bosnia, the genocide of nearly 1,000,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus in Rwanda and the systematic and violent subjugation of blacks and people of colour in apartheid South Africa?

In Bosnia, Rwanda and South Africa, leading Muslims have sought to be agents of reconciliation and social justice. Few know the story of how Rwandan Muslims saved the lives of hundred of thousands during the 1994 genocide by offering them sanctuary inside their mosques.

In this unique gathering three people at the frontlines of this struggle to heal and repair their societies will speak about how their faith has been an agent of mercy in the most of difficult of times. Join us for a remarkable evening.
