The Halal
Juggernaut Rolls into London

Q-News, Issue 367
July 2006
The global halal industry is poised
to become one of the biggest economic stories of the decade.
Conservative estimates put the industry at just under US$590 billion.
With a consumer base of 1.5 billion (and God, we know its growing
fast), halal is set be bigger than organic, fair trade and vegetarian
combined. Look out for a major report on the first World Halal Forum
which was recently held in Malaysia in the next issue of Q-News.
The World Halal Expo is now coming to the UK. The show will be held
Islington’s Business Design Centre, 2 to 3 April 2007. A two day
International Halal Conference - Challenges and Opportunities in the
European Halal Market will be held in conjunction with the expo, which
will profile the spectrum of possibilities that is the halal industry -
from food products, to Islamic finance.
Q-News is proud to be a media partner of the World Halal Expo UK
2007.
Organizations and Companies which are interested to exhibit in the
World Halal Expo or participate in the Conference (as a delegate or
speaker) are invited to contact the organiser by email at
info@expam.com or contact UK representative Syarifah Aidid-McDonough at
smcdonough@expam.com or on + 44 (0)791 737 5469 or +44 (0)203 2200 007.
